Everyone knows about SMART goals, but what about EASY goals?
EASY goals are Energising, give you Agency, are Small enough to reasonably achieve, and are personal to You.
Energising: When a goal truly resonates with you, it creates an immediate spark of motivation. It’s the kind of goal that has you thinking about it throughout the day, maybe even rearranging your schedule to make more space for it. Notice how your body responds when you imagine working toward this goalโdoes it create a sense of excitement and forward momentum?
Agency: The path to achievement rests entirely in your hands. This isn’t about waiting for someone else’s approval or working around external limitations. Consider whether you have all the necessary tools and decision-making power to move forward. A goal with true agency allows you to progress at your own pace, on your own terms.
Small: Choose a goal that feels manageable within a three-month timeframe. Breaking larger ambitions into smaller milestones creates space for consistent progress and regular moments of accomplishment. Ask yourself: what’s a meaningful step I can fully complete in the next 90 days?
Yours: The most powerful goals come from within. Take a moment to check inโis this something you genuinely desire for yourself, or are you responding to external expectations? Personal goals connect with your values and identity, creating a natural motivation that sustains you through challenges.
