Rest is the start of creative work

Rest isn’t your reward for doing creative work; it’s the foundation of your creative work.

If you’re like me, you think that there’ll be time to rest when you get the important stuff done. Just one more late night, and you’ll be over the hump. One more big push to get the article submitted, and then you’ll have earned the rest.

Read: Successful people take time to rest.

But the truth is that the rest needs to be a part of the process. The rest is what gives you the time and space to expand your thinking and come up with the creative insights.

Rest isn’t the reward for a job well done. Rest is what you need to do the job well.
