Criteria for developing expert performance

Practice in itself won’t help you to improve your academic performance.

You need to satisfy four criteria to consistently improve.

  1. Many repetitions
  2. of deliberate practice
  3. in a valid environment
  4. with timely feedback from someone you trust.

The most effective way to get better at anything is to practice what hurts the most.

The Head space courses give you a framework to improve the parts of academia that hurt the most.

If you believe in the goal of trying to shift academic culture towards a state of calm productivity, and you’d like to do something to help sustain the project, you can buy me a coffee. Or you can share a link to the online courses with anyone you think would appreciate it.
